Meet Shana Knight

Professional Organizer

I am Shana Knight, the owner of Joyful Dwelling. I have always been a creative spirit and have been organizing since I was a child. Growing up, I always wanted things a certain way and found that I functioned better when the things around me were in order. I’ve spent years helping friends and family become organized because of the peace and joy it brings to my own life. I want that for everyone and am always looking for ways to help people.

Several years ago, I became a mom of an eight-year-old unexpectedly. Immediately, my day-to-day changed and became packed with all the duties of being a single mom. I quickly realized that being organized as a single person looked very different from being organized as a mom. The systems in my home needed to change in order to fit the season I had just entered. I knew that if she couldn’t help maintain those systems, I was only creating more work for myself. Changing the systems in my own home helped me see how it could benefit so many other moms out there who are also struggling with an overwhelming schedule and too little time. That is why I created Joyful Dwelling. I want to help others like me who need less stress and more time in their days to better serve those around them. 

I have over 12 years of closing agent and management experience in the title industry and have enjoyed helping people with the biggest purchase they will ever make…their home. Now I want to take that a step further and help people create peace and joy in their homes. Nothing says “I have my life together” like an organized home. And when we feel we have our lives together, we are more empowered in everything we do. Everyone around us benefits from us having a joyful dwelling. Our feelings at home set the tone for our day, and I want to help make those feelings more positive.

When I’m not organizing, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My mom and sisters are my rock and who I call my very best friends. I also enjoy reading, writing, hiking, roller skating, and watercolor painting. Above all, my passion is helping and motivating others. Through Joyful Dwelling, I will do just that!

Organizing Consultant

I crave order and simplicity, beauty and functionality, both at work and at home. Seeing the joy on someone’s face after I’ve decluttered and organized their space and turned their chaos into calm is the best feeling in the world. Knowing I’ve helped lower their stress and created a sense of pride and joy for their home is truly the best reward. I want to create that feeling for as many people as possible.
